Computer Tune-up
Over time computers accumulate more and more stuff and require a good clean up! A full tune-up from us and your computer and home network will be running faster than ever before. Here are some of the tasks we’ll carry out:
Improve start-up and shutdown: Many different factors affect the speed at which your computer is able to start-up and shutdown. We take a look at all of them to ensure both processes are as quick as possible.
Install Windows updates: Microsoft frequently releases new updates for Windows to fix issues with and improve the overall performance of the operating system. Installing them can be both time consuming and difficult. Avoid the headache and let us do it for you!
Clean-up quick launch and task baр: Wondering what all of those pesky icons that appear in your task bar are? Wonder no more! We will explain to you what they are and if you don’t want them, delete them forever.
Remove unwanted programs and trial ware: People often mistakenly gather unwanted or unnecessary programs and trial ware on their computer. These can make your machine cumbersome and temperamental. We’ll remove any unwanted ones to speed up your machine and prevent those annoying pop-ups.
Remove dust from inside the computer: As your computer gets older, the inside of it unsurprisingly collects more and more dust. This build up restricts the air flow inside of the computer which leads to overheating and affects the speed and stability of the machine.
Cracked Laptop Screen Repairs
Laptops and Notebooks by their very nature are prone to being dropped or stood on or having liquids split over them.
This often requires replacement of the damaged LCD Screen.
If your screen is damaged or cracked give us a call or email with the Laptop/Notebook make and model and we will send you a written quotation by email within 24 hours. If you wish to go ahead with the repair, please contact us and give us the go-ahead to source and purchase the part. Once it has arrived we will give you a call and ask you to bring in the damaged item. Simple screen replacements can often be done within the hour (depending on how busy the workshop is)
The typical cost of a replacement LCD screen is between £50 to £100 depending on the size and the model (plus the cost of labor to remove and install it).
Virus & Spyware Removal
Remove all viruses, spyware and rootkits: All malicious viruses, spyware and rootkits on your computer will be completely removed using specialist tools and software.
Repair any operating system issues caused by the virus: Viruses and spyware often create issues with a computer’s operating system like boot problems or even a dreaded blue screen of death. These will be repaired to prevent ongoing problems.
Perform critical Windows updates: An infected computer sometimes won’t properly download and install critical Windows updates as it usually would. We will perform any necessary updates that it’s missed out on.
Test Windows for proper functionality: Windows will then be thoroughly tested to guarantee proper functionality.
Install or update internet security software: It’s most likely that your computer “caught” its virus online or from an email attachment. The best safeguard against this in the future is up to date internet security software. We will check to see if you have internet security software already installed; if you do we’ll update it and make sure it’s working properly and if you don’t we’ll install it for you.
